Turning a pot

The Art Studio offers lots of great activities with clay! We have great clay working facilities with 5 throwing wheels and a large slab roller.

Projects can be functional like a dish or basket, or full of abstract artistic beauty. Guest working with clay have the pleasure of working with clay artist Lynn Loftus. With over 40 years of experience, Lynn can help you realize your clay dreams. Please call for reservations in all wet clay activities. 2 weeks project time, please ask if your visit may be shorter.

Clay Wheel Throwing

Ages 12 and up. $45 per person. 1 hour instructed class.

Learn the basic techniques of centering and how to throw a pot on the wheel. Price includes instruction, glazes, and kiln firings.

The times below are what are always available, but their is often a good chance you can walk in most days (except Mondays & Thursdays, the potter is off!) and do activities. Call and ask for Lynn to make a reservation or just drop by!

Tuesday & Wednesday, Friday & Saturday: 10:30am-3:30pm

Clay Hand Building

Ages 8 and up. Prices range from $25 – $65+. 1 hr instructed class.

Choose from: a custom fish or seahorse, house address plaque, bowls, wind chimes, mirrors, vases/pitchers, wall pockets, clock, plates/plaques, masks, sugar and creamer set, colored clay workshop, or free form. Includes instruction.

Kid’s Clay Hand Building

Ages 5-11. $25 per child. 1 hr instructed class.

Build a pinch pot or coil pot. Create a small sculpture. Basic clay techniques.

*Please note all clay projects require multiple firings and multiple visits to the studio. Prices are all-inclusive. Please allow at least 2 weeks for project completion.
