Design you masterpiece out of glass or slabs of clay.Glass fusing is a reservation recommended activity for everyone ages 12 and up. Learn how to cut and break glass, arrange your design, and then we will fire it in a kiln overnight in to a glittering solid piece of glass! Projects range from $35-$100 and most guests take about two hours to complete the project of their choice. Glass projects can be ready the next day, and we can safely ship most finished art. Clay slab/hand building is a artistic process where the wet clay is rolled out into a slab, and you then mold and shape the slab with your hands, tools, cut-outs, stamps, and anything else you can find that has a great pattern or shape to it! Projects can be functional like a dish or basket, or full of abstract artistic beauty. Guest working with clay have the pleasure of working with clay artist Lynn Loftus. With over 45 years of experience, Lynn can help you realize your clay dreams. Please call for reservations in all wet clay activities. 2 weeks project time, please ask if your visit may be short. Glass Blowing, or borosilicate lamp working as it is technically called, is a hot art we are excited to teach you at The Art Studio. Join our glass blowing teacher during a 90 minute session where you can bend, shape, and mold the molten glass yourself! Our glass artist will teach you, and then stand by to help with any tricky maneuvers. First timers can easily create marbles, paperweights, pendants, cabinet knobs and much more for class one. Repeat guests can learn even more advanced techniques too, like blowing hollow glass, and creating more complex constructions. Please make a reservation. Glass blowing class is $120 per person, and guests must wear closed toe shoes.
The Potter’s Room has six potting wheels and stools ready for our visitor’s use. We feature classes in this room ranging from introduction to advanced, as well as multi-week in-depth courses.
